Petition to save Lydney to Chepstow bus service

A petition to save a Forest of Dean bus route from cuts has been handed in to Gloucestershire County Council.






County councillor Stan Waddington said in May the authority could not afford to continue subsidising services that were poorly used and could be better served by other means.

Man goes through car windscreen in Stroat road accident

A 20-year-old pedestrian is being treated for a fractured skull and a broken leg after being hit by a car in the Forest of Dean.
Police said the man, from Lydney, was thrown through the windscreen of a Ford Focus on the A48 at Stroat at about 0100 BST.
He was taken to Bristol's Frenchay hospital for treatment to his injuries.
The car driver was treated for minor injuries at hospital in Gloucester. The road was closed for several hours.
