Car in Collision with Man Near Stroat

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision near Tidenham in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday, May 15).
A blue Ford Focus driven by a man from Lydney collided with a 20-year-old man from Lydney on the A48 at about 1am.
The pedestrian was taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol with head and leg injuries and is currently in a serious but stable condition. The car driver was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with minor injuries.
The road was closed for several hours while a collision investigation took place.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or anything in the build-up to the collision should call Gloucestershire Police on 0845 090 1234, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident 52 of May 15.

Cars seized in police operation - 14-May-2007

Cars seized in police operation 
 
Police in Gloucestershire seized 10 vehicles as part of a crackdown on illegal drivers in the Forest of Dean.
 
The two-day operation targeted speeding motorists, those without the correct documentation and unroadworthy vehicles.
Officers also used Automatic Number Plate Recognition Technology to find cars which had been involved in other crimes.
Police focused on the Cinderford, Huntley and Stroat areas.
